Recommendation

We recommend screen printing frames with meshes between 80T and 120T. A waterproof photographic emulsion should be used to create the screen stencil. Recommended squeegee hardness 75 Shore.

Drying

The ink dries on paper at room temperature in approximately 15 minutes. The prints can be stored in a stacking dryer to save space. To speed up the drying process, the prints can be dried with an additional supply of warm air at a temperature of approximately 50°C. The ink dries simply by evaporation of the water content.

Dilution

In terms of printability and consistency, PAPYROPRINT is already ideally set for printing on paper. However, if necessary, the ink can be easily diluted by adding 5 - 10% water.

Cleaning

Cleaning takes place immediately after the printing process, while the ink is still fresh. Screen printing frames and working equipment can be cleaned with water. To effectively prevent ghosting at high print runs and to completely remove ink from the screen, we recommend the odorless and biodegradable screen cleaner WASHOUT-AQ .

Miscibility

All shades can be mixed with each other as desired. To create translucent, transparent colors, colored colors can be mixed with the colorless binder PAPYROPRINT . Opaque white is usually used for tinting and mixing pastel shades. Prints with PAPYROPRINT inks have a matte surface. If a glossy surface is required, the print is overprinted with the transparent colorless varnish PAPYROPRINT .

Comment

Water-based inks tend to dry out on the screen when printing in large quantities or using fine mesh. We therefore recommend that you always print with a large amount of ink on the screen. In addition, the work is done quickly and one after the other without long breaks. After each stroke of the squeegee, the screen should always be flooded with ink. This means that there is always a layer of paint in the screen and fine paint residues cannot dry so easily in the screen fabric. In general, we recommend that you mix the paint thoroughly in the container with a paint spatula before each use.

Shelf life/storage

Storage should be dry and at room temperature. Avoid temperatures above 30°C or freezing. If tightly closed, the paint will last for one year in its original container.
