This high-quality aluminum trough has two different surface edges. Sharp on one side and strongly rounded on the other. With the sharp side, the photoemulsion can be applied thinly and carefully on the screen (e.g. for graphic screen printing). The rounded side, on the other hand, is used for applying a higher layer of emulsion, as is usual for textile printing.

The trough is easy to hold, so the emulsion can be guided over the screen frame with absolute precision and without dripping. This emulsion tray is also very resistant to chemicals and the smooth surface allows easy removal of emulsion residues under running water.

The photoemulsion is always applied first to the print side and then to the squeegee side of the screen printing frame. It is true: the thicker the applied copy layer, the higher the color deposit will be later on the printing material. Prints on light fabrics or paper require only a thin application of emulsion. Preferably 1x on each side of the sieve. However, when printing with opaque white on dark fabrics, the print side should be coated twice and the erasable side 1 or 2 coats.
