Water-based screen printing ink suitable for light and medium colored textiles

Color: Dark brown

Properties

DEKAPRINT 2000 is a fabric-safe, vibrantly colored screen printing ink for high-quality prints on medium-colored and light-colored fabrics. Ideal for cotton, polyester, synthetics and blended fabrics. The paint is environmentally friendly and manufactured according to German quality standards. Individual colors are ready for printing.
DEKAPRINT impresses with its easy printability, very good washing resistance and extremely long print life. Due to the fact that the color penetrates very deeply into the fabric thanks to its liquid consistency, the prints are very delicate. The prints on the fabric are barely noticeable by hand. Because the color is so smooth, but at the same time so brilliant, it is often used for screen printing on paper and cardboard in addition to professional textile printing.

Recommendation

A waterproof photoemulsion such as FLX SCREEN Hybrid emulsion should be used for printing.

For DEKAPRINT paints, medium-hard squeegee hardness of 70 Shore or 65 Shore is usually used.

The recommended screen printing fabric is between 32T and a maximum of 90T depending on the application. Common bright and neon colors are best printed with fabric 47T to max. 80T. CMYK colors are usually printed with 72T, 80T or 90T fabric.

For prints with coarsely pigmented fancy colors such as gold, copper or silver, 32T to 47T mesh screens should be used depending on the ink application desired.

Miscibility

All colors can be freely mixed together.

Thermal fixation

After printing, the ink is first dried in air or by applying heat (eg heat gun / flash dryer) until the ink dries and the water evaporates. The actual thermal fixation, or polymerization, then takes place for the purpose of permanently connecting the color to the fabric. For this purpose, printed textiles are ideally exposed to a temperature of 150 to 160 °C.

If fixation is performed by thermopress, we recommend first prepressing for 10 seconds at 150 - 160 °C and letting the remaining moisture evaporate briefly. Then iron again for 30-40 seconds. When fixing with a drying tunnel, the optimal fixing time is 2 - 3 minutes. At home, fixing can also be done with a heat gun, iron (iron on the left side) or even in the oven. For each of the latter methods, a fixing time of 2-3 minutes is recommended for the entire surface.

If the prints have been fixed correctly, they are characterized by an above-average durability on the textile.

Cleaning

Ideally, cleaning should be done with water immediately after printing while the ink is still fresh. To effectively prevent "ghosting" during long-term operation and completely remove the color from the mesh, we recommend the highly effective, odorless and biodegradable screen cleaner WASHOUT-AQ .

Shelf life / Storage

Paints should be stored dry and at room temperature, so they must be protected from frost and direct sunlight. Paint cans must be resealed immediately after applying the paint so that the paint does not dry out unnecessarily. Screen printing ink can last up to two years when sealed.
