Properties

TEXPRINT-AQ is an opaque premium screen printing ink for dark, medium and light fabrics made from cotton, polyester, synthetics and blended fabrics. The paint is water-based, environmentally friendly and manufactured according to the criteria of the Oeko-Tex-100 standard. The ink is single component and ready to print. It impresses with high-quality print results and very good resistance to washing. Suitable for T-shirts, bags, hoodies, shorts, etc.

Recommendation

A waterproof emulsion is suitable for printing. Recommended squeegee hardness: 65-70 Shore. Recommended screen printing fabric for standard colors: 43T to 61T

Miscibility

All shades can be freely mixed with each other. To reduce the viscosity of the paint and make it look smoother, the paint can be diluted with up to 7% water. However, when diluting, it must be remembered that this also reduces the hiding power of the paint. In practice, therefore, these colors are diluted with water only if they are to be printed on light fabrics and a finer feel of the print is required.

Thermal fixation

After printing, the ink is first air-dried or heat-dried (heat gun/flash dryer) until the ink appears "finger dry". When most of the water has evaporated from the print, it will heat cure itself (polymerize) to permanently bond the color to the fabric. For this, the printed textiles are exposed to a temperature of 150 to 160 °C.

If fixation is performed by thermopress, we recommend first prepressing for 10 seconds at 150 - 160 °C and letting the residual moisture "evaporate" briefly. Then it is pressed again for 30-45 seconds. When fixing with a drying tunnel, the optimal fixing time is 2 - 3 minutes. In the DIY realm, heat settings can also be done with a heat gun, an iron (inside out), an iron, or even in the oven. For each of the latter methods, full-surface fixation of 2-3 minutes is recommended.

Cleaning

Cleaning takes place immediately after printing while the ink is still fresh. Screen printing frames and work materials can be cleaned with water.

Shelf life / Storage

Storage should be dry and at room temperature. Temperatures above 30°C or frost must be avoided. Paint can be stored for at least one year in its original container if properly sealed.
